News Death Notice

COMER, Kenneth O. "K.O." 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Patriot Ridge Community in Fairborn. He was born June 14, 1940 in Springfield the son of Kenneth and Marciene (Goings) Comer. He was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Lisa Ann. He retired from Lorillard in 2000 after working as a salesman for 28 years. He excelled at football in his youth and was a lifelong fan of Catholic Central football, was an avid fisherman and animal lover, a member of St. Bernard Church where he was also a lector and a U.S. Navy veteran having served from 1958-1960. His favorite pastime though, was going to Mackinac Island with his wife of 50 years, Pat. Survivors in addition to his wife, include one daughter and spouse, Kristina (Tom) Dietz, Breezy Point, MN; 4 grandchildren, Vince, Valerie, Kyle and Chloe Patterson; special close family and friends, Tom (Sue) Shuttleworth, Jim (Joyce) Nave and Bill Bushu and a loyal cat, Annie. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Patriot Ridge, especially Lisa, Carol, Cheryl and Paige. Private services are being held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association, 3797 Summit Glen Drive, Suite G100, Dayton, OH 45449 or St. Bernard Catholic Church. The family is being served by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.

I will miss you brother K.O. We always enjoyed our visits.Wish I could have seen you before you passed away. We had a Family Reunion here a year ago I think at our Home in Bellbrook and so HAPPY you and Patty attended. I love you K.O. We had fun too as kids didn't we???Always loved visiting you and Aunt Marciene and Unk Speed. And being with Grandma Goings too. We drove her nuts sometimes didn't we?? Just remember you go on living in Patty and your daughter Chris and your 4 wonderful Grandkids....

I graduated with KO, CCHS class of 1958. He was a perfect gentleman. He was always nice. God bless his family. He will always have a place in my heart as one of the good guys.
