News Death Notice

MICHAELS, Louise (Jordan) 110, of Urbana, passed away on March 16, 2012 at Hearth & Home of Urbana. Louise was born in Logan County on November 20, 1901, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Ballinger) Jordan. She graduated from North Lewisburg High School in 1920 and attended Ohio Wesleyan University, majoring in piano performance. She later worked at the Champaign County Court House, becoming Deputy Clerk of Courts. She was a member of Delta Zeta sorority, Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Theta Tau, and the Urbana United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Michaels Shultz of Urbana, three grandsons, John (Kim) Shultz of Plain City, Brooks Shultz of London, Toby Shultz of Hilliard, and great grandchildren John, Kristin and Kaitlyn Shultz, children of John; Cassady and Caroline Shultz, children of Brooks. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, W. Brooks Michaels, and her sister, Esther (Jordan) Coffey. Services will be held at the Walter & Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Jones officiating on Monday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation an hour before the service. Burial will be in Oak Dale Cemetery. Donations in Louise's memory may be made to the Restoration Fund of the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church, 124 E. Maple Street, North Lewisburg, OH 43060.
