Family-Placed Obituary

SCHILDKNECHT, Marilyn A. 70, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday October 17 2005 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1935 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late William (Woody) and Marjorie (Young) Rees. Marilyn was married to the late James Russell Schildknecht on February 18, 1954 for 49 loving years. She was a very active member of the Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren, including serving on many church boards and committees, owner of Graphic Printing, and a Mercy Hospital volunteer. She was inducted into the Tecumseh Hall of Honor; member of the Tecumseh Athletic Hall of Fame committee, Tecumseh Education Foundation, Tecumseh Athletic Boosters, many other Tecumseh local school committees and a very strong supporter of Graham High School Athletics. She was also one of the founding Y.M.C.A. board members, volunteer for the Ohio Reads program, supporter of the Clark County 4H and member of Cafee Cafee M.V.O.A.. She was extremely active in her grandchildren's lives, also very much loved and admired by her own community. She is survived by her daughters, Kim and her husband Greg Janek, Kit and her husband Carl McGinnis, Kelly and her husband Greg Gannon; grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Billy Morgan, Christopher and his wife Nikki Wilson, Zachary and his wife Holly Gannon, Courtney Gannon, Jesse Janek and Heather Janek; great-grandchildren, Jamie Morgan and Tyler Morgan. Brothers, Bill and his wife Merrillyn Rees and Jim Rees; aunts, Alice Smith and Jo Young and special friends Kenny and Virgina Teach and Jerry and Rachel DeMent; many nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Lynn Schildknecht, grandson Joshua Thomas Campbell and sister-in-law Helen Rees. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2005 at TROSTEL-CHAPMAN FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio, with Pastor Floyd Smith officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund and/or a charity of your choice. Marilyn has been known to me since we were in the sixth grade at Medway. She was a special person--I thought of her as the one who "looked after" our class members, Coach Shannon, and Bud Clements. She will be greatly missed by Tecumseh Class of 1953.
