BAILEY, Melanie Age 59, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 26, 1959 in Middletown and lived in this area all her life. She graduated from Edgewood High School in Trenton Class of 1977. She served in the U.S. Army, and was second to Sergeant Major at Savanah Georgia Army Base. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. Preceding her in death were her mother, Dolly Mae Bales Bailey; and her maternal grandparents, Ella Mae Bales and Robert Manuel Bales. She is survived by her former husband, Scott Eakes; her father, Kent Bailey; three sisters, Vicki (Dennis) O'Daniel, Cindy (Doug) Tuttle, and Christa (Chuck) Buchanan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. There will be a time of greeting for family and friends on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. with her brother-in-law, Pastor Dennis O'Daniel officiating. There will be Military Honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
