Bob was first a counselor when I was at Roosevelt and then a colleague when I taught in the Springfield City Schools. Also, when I attended Trinity Lutheran, I got to know his sister, Eileen, and brother-in-law, Bob Reid. During this time, I learned what a wonderful sense of humor, both Bobs had. Now both are gone and the world is a less joyous place because of it, but a better place because both lived and shared with others.

I knew Bob Cain as a counselor, father and friend. The best word I can use to describe him in all three (3) roles would be genuine. Bob was a down to earth individual who took great pride in his work. His reward was the pleasure he received from accomplishing desired tasks. Simply stated, it is a real shame every student did not have Bob as his/her counselor. Due to business conflicts, I am not able to be physically present for his service. To Helen and Mike, I don't have to tell you what a loss we have endured. I am taking time to reflect his powerful influence in my life during my junior high days. I praise our God for my relationship with your loved one and shall always cherish his professional legacy and personal demeanor.
