Ronald Boblitt Obituary
News Death Notice
BOBLITT, Ronald Ralph 64, local Springfield attorney, passed unexpectedly, Thursday, September 15, 2011. He was born in Springfield on February 4, 1947, the son of the late C. Wayne and Gladys Jeanette (Carver) Boblitt. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Springfield South High School, attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from Urbana University in 1970. A hard-worker his entire life, he began working in his early teens. He was a gifted educator at Hayward and Franklin Middle Schools and worked at International Harvester. Ron ended his career as a teacher, but continued on at International full-time while commuting to Capital Law School to fulfill a life-long dream. Upon graduating from Capital Law in 1986 and passing the bar exam, he began his 25 years of service in Springfield as an attorney at law. Ron was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, B.D.L.A., a loyal friend of Bill W., and an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lexie Louise (Summers) Boblitt; daughter, Sara Elizabeth Boblitt of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Thomas and Hannah Louise Boblitt of Hilliard; and grandchildren, Sally Boblitt, Ellie and Luke Fessler, and Michael and Molly Boblitt. Also surviving are brothers and sister, Steve and Liz Estep of Xenia, Billy and Susan Ruby of Lucasville, and Terry and Janice Boblitt of Findlay; and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Ron's funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Charlotte Collins Reed officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Christ Episcopal Church, 409 E. High St., Springfield, OH 45505. Lexie, Sara, Richard - my deepest sympathies. Just from looking at the pictures and seeing Ron's interactions with his family, I can tell that he was truly a great family man who cared for and loved his family very deeply. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once, but I know from working with Lexie and Sara that he did well during his time here on earth. You will miss him, but he is proud of each of you and will continue to be as you continue on life's journey. Be strong and be faithful, and let me know how I or the school can help you.

I have known Ron since the early years at the Old First Christian Church. Those were the good ole days. I became reacquainted with him years later in the banking world. He was such a nice person and I enjoyed talking to him and servicing him at the bank.My prayers go out to the family. He will be missed.

when I think of Ron I think of the fun Friday nights we had at the Highschool football games and the time afterwards at Applebee's. When I think of Ron, I think of a man dedicated to his family, a man caring and loving. So very sorry for your loss. When I was an assistant prosecutor, Ron and I battled it out a few times over cases, but I have always had deep respect for him and his journey to becoming an attorney. He was a tough and scrappy attorney, but he was always very kind to me. More recently, I observed a very loving and gentle spirit within him, and I am confident that he is in heaven with the Lord.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Boblitt's passing. I had him for history at Hayward many years ago but he was always my favorite teacher because he taught with humor and really made history come alive for us.
