News Death Notice

GOLDSBERRY, Ruth E. 81, of Urbana, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in her residence. She was born May 1, 1929, in Cable, OH, a daughter of Charles and Bertha (Kennedy) Kennedy. Ruth was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union and for many years helped with Sunday School and Bible School at Mt. Carmel Church. She retired from the Hall Company with over 20 years of service. Previously she had worked at Gould, Plastic Research Products, Twin Fair and T.G. & Y. Ruth was an avid reader, good grandmother and a true and loyal friend to all who knew her. Survivors include daughters, Marilyn Pugh of Urbana, Peggy McCombs and her husband Darrell of Cable; sons, Jerry Goldsberry and his wife Bev of Bucyrus, Johnny Goldsberry and his wife Teresa of Urbana; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Holding of Urbana and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband Pearl Goldsberry on January 31, 1980, parents sisters Viola Jordan, Hazel Markin and a brother Paul Kennedy Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday May 13, 2010 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Fred Clogg officiating. The family will receive friends at Johns house, 575 E. Lawn Ave., Urbana, following the services. Memorial contributions may be in given in Ruths memory to WEEC 2265 Troy Road, Springfield, OH 45504 The family is being served by the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.

The angels are rejoicing as they welcome one sweet soul into Heaven. Aunt Ruth was a quiet,sweet and gracious lady who made me feel worthwhile,she made us feel welcomed in her home. I will always remember her fondly and with love. May God be with each of you in this time of loss and sorrow. You will be in our hearts and prayers.
