Family-Placed Obituary


NAPIER Suzanne K. (Deane) of Urbana passed away on Friday evening, February 17, 2006 in the Mercy St. John's Center. A graduate from Urbana local high school, Mrs. Napier was born in Worthington, Ohio the daughter of Wilbur and Bertha Townsley. She was a member of the Bowlusville United Methodist Church where she played the organ, directed the choir, and was very involved with the United Methodist Women's group. She taught swimming at the YMCA, enjoyed painting, singing and was an accomplished pianist. Mrs. Napier was also a member of the Springfield Garden Club and worked with the Champaign County Board of Elections for many years. She is survived by her second husband, William F. Napier of Springfield, seven children and their spouses, David Deane of North Carolina, Nelson P. and Sandra Deane of Urbana, Cynthia and Joseph Carmazzi of North Carolina, Jamie and Cheryl Deane of Urbana, Christen R. and Kimberly Deane of Urbana, Mitzi and Stephen Evans of Springfield, and Jeffrey L. and Cheryl Deane of Springfield; one sister, Esther Ward of Columbus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Deane of South Vienna, 18 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend, Clara Chatwood of St. Paris. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Edwin Deane in 1979, parents, brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Townsley. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where the service will be held on Friday, February 24th at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smilin' Bob Memorial Heart Attack Fund, Inc. 350 North Fountain Avenue Springfield, Ohio 45504. We are so sorry we can,t be with you at this time . We have lost such a beautiful and generous person. We enjoyed many happy times in her home. What a wonderful laugh she had. I hear it repeated in her girls. Please feel our love and hugs in our absence. Love, Chuck and Dot
