Chris Spanos Obituary

CHRIS P. SPANOS - 73, of Stamford passed away on Thursday Feb. 24, 2005 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Stamford Feb. 7, 1932 the son of the late Peter and Mary Aloupis Spanos, he had resided in Stamford all his life. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 30 years before retiring. He graduated from Stamford High School with the Class of 1941, and in his younger days he played much baseball and basketball. Survivors include a niece, Mary Cosmos Gian of Stamford, a nephew Michael A. Cosmos of Milford, a great niece Ashley Ann Gian of Stamford and a great nephew Michael A. Cosmos Jr. of Milford. Chris was predeceased by a sister Jane Ann Cosmos. A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford on Monday Feb. 28, 2005 9:20 AM and proceed to the Greek Orthodox Church of Annunciation 1230 Newfield Ave. Stamford for a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place Stamford. A Trisagon Service will be held on Sunday Feb. 27, 2005 at 6:00 PM with Father Constantine Matthews officiating, and friends may call at the Funeral Home, Sunday from 3-7PM.
