Aloha my dear friend Drexcel,

Many years have passed but will always remember your smiling face and your rush to get to class at Ripp (and how we were ALWAYS late-no matter how hard we tried to be on time). Your smiling face and kind word to all meant a lot. And how hard we all cried on graduation night :-).

You will remain in my thoughts always.

My sincere sympathy to the entire Hampton family of your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this trying time. God had special plans for Drexcel!

Drexcel my friend, until we meet again......aloha!

To all the Hampton Family:

I have been a friend of Adolphus for many years, and know the heartache you've all gone through so many times. To lose the baby of the family, dear Drexcel, is a hard blow. But God must have wanted him sooner rather than later.

My condolences to Dolph, Mrs. Hampton, and all the family.

With warm regards,

Carol M Jenkins

I mourn with you all at this time of loss however I rejoice with you, as well. Knowing, beyond the shadow of a doubt that Drexcel is present with the Lord rejoicing and singing "Holy , Holy, Holy". I am so very sad to hear of Drexcel's passing. I remember him so fondly from so many choir rehearsals, plays and other activities throughout our youth. Though time and distance have separated many of us, we all remained connected by our memories. Drexcel was special, because he knew the value in making others feel special. He will be truly missed. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Peace;

Our sincerest condolences to the Hampton family. My husband Joe and I have known Drexcel for many, many years...he, from Connecticut Avenue and I, from our involvement in Stage Door for Youth. What wonderful memories of Drexcel and all of the talented Hamptons. It has been such a joy to reconnect with him after all these years through the Young Artists Philharmonic's partnership with Union Baptist Church. It was always so heartwarming to see his happy, smiling face on Monday evenings and to reminisce about shows in which we had performed. I was especially happy that my Joseph, a bassist and recent graduate of YAP had the pleasure of knowing Drexcel. Drexcel appreciated his musical talents and always made him feel so special. It was Drexcel that was special! One recent memory was listening to Mr. Princiotti rehearse a medley from "West Side Story" last year. Drexcel was in the sanctuary listening to the rehearsal and we so enjoyed sharing the sounds of that glorious music. He was a treasure to so many and will be sadly missed. May God's blessings shine on you all.

Sincerely,

John Quinn

I was honored to call Drexcel my friend. We met in elementary school (Westover) and although we haven't seen or talked for many, many years, he left a lasting impression that I shall never forget. His love of life was overwhelming and his passion will be with me forever. God Bless.

Drexcel and I have been friends for thirty years. Throughout all the shows, trips, parties, meals and not a few hardships his kindness and optimism prevailed. Our friendship has been a constant shining beacon in my life. I will miss him terribly, but will ever be thankful to have had a one-of-a kind friend like him.
