Thomas Gorman Obituary

THOMAS JOSEPH GORMAN

a resident of Stamford, Connecticut and Tom's River, New Jersey died October 18, 2007 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 6, 1929 to the late Helen and Thomas J. Gorman of the Bronx, New York.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Elizabeth Berkery Gorman, his five daughters, Maryann Gorman, Patricia Molloy, her husband Ronald, Elizabeth Gorman, Eileen Gorman, Kathleen Tormey, her husband Michael, and his seven grandchildren: Kathleen, Sean, Colin, and Emma Rose Molloy, Michaela Gorman, and Alanah and Liam Tormey. He is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Gorman Hannigan.

Thomas was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School and Iona College. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a sergeant in the United States Army. He retired from AT&T and Northern Telecom after an extensive and distinguished career that began installing telephones at New York Telephone and included launching AT&T International.

Funeral services will be held at Leo P. Gallagher and Son, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, Ct. 06905 on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 22, 2007, 10 AM, at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 469 North Street, Greenwich Ct. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, New York.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Cardinal Hayes High School, Alumni Association, 650 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York, 10451.

He was so very loved, and his family was so very blessed.
