Victoria Lange Obituary

VICTORIA LYNN LANGE passed away peacefully on January 31, 2011, at home in Greenwich, Connecticut, with her husband at her side after a courageous, 11 year battle with breast cancer. Victoria was born in Glendale, California in 1956 to Richard and Phyllis (Ponder) Foes. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Victoria enjoyed a successful career in the financial services industry at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and Shearson Lehman Hutton in New York City before retiring to focus full time on raising her family. Victoria lived in Greenwich since 1993, where she was an active member of The Second Congregational Church and its Chancel Choir, and was always an active volunteer at the children's schools. She had a passion for the arts which was exhibited through her pursuit of writing, painting, ballet, singing and literature. She also enjoyed cycling, yoga and gardening and in the past three years rekindled a childhood dream of owning her own horse, Truman. Victoria's love for and commitment to her family was extraordinary. She is survived by her husband, Paul David Lange, and her three children, Trent Goulard, Adrienne Lange and Russell Lange of Greenwich, Connecticut, and her siblings Juliane Swanson of Arroyo Grande, California, Paula Foes of Braintree, Massachusetts, and Randall Foes of Victor, Idaho. Victoria was a devoted friend and touched lives in a powerful way in all that she did. She was both passionate and talented, and dedicated herself fully to whatever she undertook. She attacked her cancer head-on with her faith, spirit and determination to thrive. She lived and loved so fully and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 2 pm at The Second Congregational Church, 139 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Bennett Cancer Center in memory of Victoria Lynn Lange, c/o Stamford Hospital Foundation, 1351Washington Blvd, Suite 202, Stamford, CT 06902.

When I think of Victoria, I think of a song from the 60's, To Know-Know-Know Her is to Love-Love-Love Her, and I do ...

Victoria inspired Love, Love of Her Family, Friends, Her Caregivers, and all things living.

I am honored to be her friend and I will be honored every time I talk about her and that will be often.

See you on the other side Dear Friend

Paul and Victoria's beloved children: just having Victoria in our lives and knowing her for all the zest for life she had was a privilege for everyone. Yes... her long battle was courageous, but more than that, to be with Victoria was to know you were in the presence of someone very special. Some people are gifted with physical grace; some with intellectual and emotional grace. But Victoria -- she had it all. I was privileged too, to know her as a church member and as someone who assisted me in my pastoral counseling studies. God hold you all very close today, as I know God holds Victoria now, free from pain.

Dear Paul, Trent, Adrienne and Russell,

Victoria's faith, love, passion and perseverance were and still are an inspiration to us. In one conversation she counted it a privilege to get the same insights into faith, life and priorities that many people don't obtain until they are decades older than she was. Her incredible legacy will live on for many generations. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
