Alice R. DeMatt, 86, passed away Friday at Frizingertown Senior Living Community, Drums, where she had been residing the last couple months.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Martin) Marley and was a member of Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton.
Prior to retirement, she worked in the housekeeping department for Hazleton General Hospital.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her sister, Mary Molino.
Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Marchese and husband, Marco, Hazleton; Kathleen Barletta, McAdoo; and Alyce Nicholas and companion, Timothy Joseph, Hazleton; son, James DeMatt and wife, Dorothy, Fogelsville; grandchildren, Marco and David Marchese; Jennifer Combellack; Nichole Schmidt; Rachel Barletta; Nickolene Espinal; Gabriel Gerenza; Vanessa Torre; Michael Nicholas; and James DeMatt Jr.; great-grandchildren, Andrianna; Brielle Combellack; Jordan Marchese; Brittany Friendy; and Manuel and Luna Emilia Espinal; and nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Annunciation Parish at St. Gabriel's Church.
Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Freeland.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, is in charge of arrangements.
