Bernard L. Lenhardt, 96, died Sunday evening at Mooser Nursing Home in Trexlertown.
Born in Nuremberg on Nov. 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Henry and Mae Elizabeth Singley Lenhardt.
Bernard graduated from Hazle Twp. High School. Upon graduation, Bernard enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a corporal during World War II. After being discharged from the Army, he was hired by Dorr-Oliver, where he was employed for more than 50 years.
Bernard was an avid hunter and fly fisherman belonging to the Dream Mile Hunting and Fishing Club for many years.
Bernard was married to his beloved wife, Charlotte, for 71 years. They were inseparable and enjoyed many activities together and loved just spending time with each other.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife of 71 years, Charlotte; son, Donald Lenhardt; brother, Edgar Lenhardt; and sister, Doris Boyle.
Surviving are his daughter, Cheryl Krieger and her husband, Leonard, West Hazleton; son, Allan Lenhardt and his wife, Patricia, Mountain Grove; grandchildren, Leonard and Lindsey Krieger; Jason Lenhardt and his wife, Courtney; and Jarret Lenhardt; and great-granddaughter, Danielle Lenhardt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 213 W. Green St., West Hazleton, where the Rev. Brian Clarke will preside. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, St. Johns.
Due to COVID restrictions, those in attendance are required to wear a mask and maintain social distance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Moser Nursing Home, 1175 Mosser Road, Trexlertown, PA 18087.

Bernie you will be surely missed by many especially me. You taught me so much in the neighborly way and as a role model. I absorbed all your knowledge you gave and watched everything you did and how you did it and in the 29 years used your ideas many times over. Love You and Miss You both.
