Carl Fuehrer Obituary

Carl Eugene Fuehrer, a resident of Gambrills, Md., passed away peacefully Monday at the age of 83.

Born on Jan. 15, 1938, in Hazleton, he was raised in a house of love as the only child of Carl and Catherine Fuehrer. He came from a family of strong faith in a home which was rooted in the love of Christ. He married his Hazleton High School sweetheart and love of his life, Nancy Smith, of Drums, in 1958. He fell in love with her on the first day that they met at the age of 16 and from there, their love grew stronger and stronger each day of his life. He would often say, "One lifetime with Nancy is not enough."

Married 63 years, together they had the pleasure of fulfilling many of their dreams. They traveled to other countries, went skiing in Austria and toured almost everywhere in North America in their RV. They sailed the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, as well as the Caribbean sea. Carl played golf every chance he had and in his younger years flew single engine airplanes. He was the author of a published book, entitled "From Rookie RVers to Masters of the Road."

Carl was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and retired after 35 years working for the Federal Trade Commission. He was also a proud member of the Masons for 60 years.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; daughters, Kathy Brennan and Darlene Akers; grandchildren, Amanda, Colin, Madison and Bryce; and sons-in-law, Kevin and Steve. He set many examples of love, faith and friendship. He will be forever missed by all.

The family sincerely appreciates all the love, support and prayers.
