1SG Dennie L. "Big Mo" Morrison Sr., retired, 63, of Falls of Rough, Ky., passed away April 17 at his residence.
Mr. Morrison was a graduate of Freeland High school, Freeland. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army as a tanker for 21 years, two months and nine days, where he received numerous awards, including the Draper Armor Leadership Award. He then worked civil service with the Fort Knox Range division for 15 additional years following his military retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, a Kentucky colonel and a member of the Wednesday night men's bowling league on Fort Knox. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to go hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Morrison; his mother, Elizabeth Morrison; and two brothers, Harold Morrison and Franklin Morrison.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Rebecca Morrison; two sons, Dennie L. "Lil' Mo" Morrison Jr. (Ericka), Kevin Morrison (Jessica); four grandchildren, Ashya, Nehemiah, Rowyn, Hollis; four brothers, David Morrison (Sherry), Michael Morrison, Leroy Morrison, Timothy Morrison; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, Ky.
Funeral services for Mr. Morrison will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, Ky.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, Ky.
