James Edward Zogby, son of the late Dr. Albert and Josephine Zogby, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim attended St. Gabriel School and was a 1966 graduate of Hazelton High School. He graduated from Villanova University in 1970 with a degree in Economics.
He married the former Sharon Reed on Sept. 4, 1971. Jim worked in finance; he worked for Western Electric Corp in Kearney, NJ and later for Bell Telephone in St. Louis, Mo. In 1976, Jim and Sharon relocated to Peoria, Ill., where Jim served as treasurer of RLI Corp. In 1995, he began a 25-year career, as an Investment Manager for First Allied Securities.
Jim was a man of many interests. He was a man of great intellect, humor and compassion; he will be deeply missed.
Surviving, besides his wife of 52 years, Sharon Zogby, are sons, James Zogby (Robin), Wauconda, Ill.; and Jeffrey Zogby (Jessica), Lemont, Ill.; daughter, Julie Zogby Hubert (Matthew), La Grange Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Alexis Brunk, Andrew Zogby, Camryn Zogby, Annabelle Zogby, Owen Zogby, Thomas Hubert, Eli Zogby and Neala Hubert; brother, Joseph Zogby (Margi), Reston, Va.; and two sisters, Cecilia Rowland (Patrick), Silver Spring, Md. and Rose Mackenzie (Jack), Virginia Beach. Jim is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as Sharon's family in Pennsylvania.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, 2416 N. North St. in Peoria, Ill. A memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Peoria Heights, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's honor and memory to the Central Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross and/or the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
