John DeBalso Obituary
John loved working on cars, especially his race car. Weekends were spent at Numidia Dragway. He enjoyed taking his 68 Shelby 350 Mustang to car shows and restoring his 69 Camaro. He also enjoyed listening to the Beatles, watching Nascar and the Dodgers, and spending time at home with his cats.
Above all, he enjoyed traveling to Florida to spend time with his daughter, Jessica, son-in-law, David and grandchildren Rio and Melina. During these visits he also enjoyed taking his Harley Davison to ride in Florida, and the beach was always his first choice for a vacation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Raymond and sister-in-law Judy Debalso. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rita Debalso, daughter Jessica (David) Sada, grandchildren Rio and Melina, brother Joe (Helen) DeBalso of Hazelton, and sister Marilyn (Edward) Mehalick of Wayne and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepdaughters Holly Jones, Heather (Joe) Wysokinski, five step grandchildren and four step great-granddaughters.
A special thanks to the staff at the Laurels Personal Care Facility. Although his time there was short, he was given outstanding care by many kind and compassionate staff.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepard Church, Drums. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the mass. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation: PO Box 62066, Durham, NC 27715 or online. You may also donate to Maylath Hospice at 750 St. Route 93, Sugarloaf, PA, 18251. Fierro Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.#.

So very sorry to hear of John's passing. I knew John from WHC and considered him a friend for 30 plus years. We retired within months of each other and continued keeping in touch through Facebook. My condolences to Rita, also a friend with whom I worked, along with her mom. My heart breaks for her and the entire family and friends. My prayer is that only good memories and the peace of Jesus Christ carry you all through this time of grief.

Worked at White Haven Center with John for over 30 years. He was a stand up guy and upon meeting him you knew you had a friend for life. You will be missed by many, John. Go soar high with the angels!
