Joseph R. DeBalso, 51, affectionately known as "Joey D" to his friends and family, passed away Sunday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was surrounded by his wife, stepdaughter and family who loved him very much, and was under the care of an amazing and compassionate staff.
He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was born and raised in Hazleton alongside his sisters, Bernadette, Cheryl and Linda, and a loving nephew, Scott. He remained in Hazleton and in 2012, married his childhood friend and the love of his life, Stacy Hinkle.

He would give the shirt off his back and lend a hand whenever anyone needed it and would never expect anything in return. He had a passion for vehicles, music, painting, RC cars, history, sci-fi and various other genres of movies.
He was a friend to all and will be terribly missed by everyone. Even in death, he will continue to give through Gift of Life organ donation. His legacy will live on in the people he will be able to help and the lives he will save.
