Lois E. Steiner, 86, of North Church Street, Hazleton, died Sunday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
Born in Hazleton on April 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Sr. and Dorothy (Faux) Keck and was of the Protestant faith.
A 1952 graduate of Hazleton High School, Lois dedicated her life to caring for her family and her home.
She liked to bake and always looked forward to family holiday gatherings. But what she cherished most was the time she spent with her four grandchildren, who were the loves of her life.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Robert D. Steiner, who died March 25, 2011; brothers, Robert, Edward, Donald and William Keck; and sisters, Esther and Louise Keck; Lorraine Kirschner; Dolly Albertson; and Beatrice Henderschedt. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her two sons, Robert D. Steiner II and his wife, Debra, Hazle Twp., and Scott R. Steiner and his wife, Lori, Sugarloaf Twp.; grandchildren, Jennifer Steiner-Kotch and her husband, Steven, Edwardsville; Dr. Tyler Steiner and his wife, Kailene, Knoxville, Tenn.; Dr. Kyle Steiner and his fiancée, Shelby Sanko, Seneca Falls, N.Y.; and Ryan Steiner, Sugarloaf Twp. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums. The Rev. Wayne Lupole, of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton, will preside.
Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, West Hazleton.
Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home for a viewing period that will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 210 W. Green St., Hazleton, PA 18201, to be used for their Seeds of Hope Program; or a donation can be made in Lois' memory to a charity of one's choice.
