The family of Michael Balicki recently learned that Michael died Feb. 27, 2021, at his home in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Michael was born in Hazleton in 1956 to Dorothy Mamrych and Michael Balicki. He graduated from MMI Preparatory School in Freeland in 1973, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State in 1977. He worked with Shell Oil as an analytical chemist in Houston, Texas. He moved to California in the early 2000s. After a stroke in 2012, his health declined. He died of cancer.
Michael is survived by his closest family, his mother, Dorothy, Hazleton; sister, Suzann, Vermont; son, Misha, and extended family.
