Thomas "Tom" J. Hudock, 84, of West Oakdale fell into an eternal sleep after a long illness on Monday morning.
He was born in Stockton No. 7, son of the late Andrew and Anna (Mitcho) Hudock. He was a member of the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton.
A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1961, serving with the 9th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colo., and last with the 35th Artillery at Fort Meade, Md., attaining the rank of specialist fourth class.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Tenneco Chemicals and retired from Garland Industries.
He enjoyed the outdoors communing with mother nature, walking the tracks with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and golfing with his grandsons. They were the joy of his life.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Edward, Joseph, George, John, Bernard, Stephen and Ann Hudock.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois Bredbenner, his high school sweetheart; and his daughters, Milissa Wilson and her husband, Anthony, Beaver Meadows; Cynthia Capozzelli and her husband, Thomas, Freeland; four grandchildren, Angela Capozzelli Fazio; Nicholas, Andrew and Kimberly Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Alexa and Aurora Fazio; and Rhys and Emma Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Aug. 27 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Ss. Cyril and Methodius at the Church of St. Joseph.
Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends and relatives may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 27 at the church prior to the Mass.

My deepest condolences to Lois and family. I worked with Tom at Garland and he was one of the kindest persons that I ever met. My family used to enjoy the chestnuts he gave us every fall. RIP
