William J. Gaumer, 91, of Tamaqua died Feb. 21 in Coaldale.
Born in Weatherly on Feb. 24, 1931, he was the son of the late William and Myrtle (Brown) Gaumer.
A 1948 graduate of Weatherly High School, William was employed by Cooper Industries in Weatherly as a quality control inspector.
He was a member of the Weatherly Fire Company, a social member of the Tamaqua American Legion and attended Trinity United Church of Christ, Tamaqua.
William was a good basketball player and an excellent golfer, but will be remembered most for being loving, kind and well dressed. He was a true gentleman liked by all.
William is survived by his companion of 36 years, Eleanor Hadesty; and nieces, Susan Marley, Hazleton; Michelle Miller, Weatherly; and Gayle Ripple, Bethlehem.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Jean Ripple and Laverne Miller; and nephew, Robert Miller.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Endowment Fund of Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua, PA 18252.
Services will be held and announced at a later date.
