I met Albert only once but was struck by what a kind and caring person he was. It was his daughter Carol that I learned more about him and was a wonderful person he was. Carol told me how as a High School guidance councilor he took such care and time helping his students. This was in marked contrast when I was trying to choose a college my guidance gave me the Lovejoy guide to colleges and told me she was too busy to help me. I hope his students knew what a unique person he was.

To the entire Kaplan fanmily, please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have such fond memories of visiting Carol in Horseheads back in the 60's; it felt more like I was visiting the entire family! May Mr. Kaplan's peace also be yours.

Dear Kaplans,
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Kaplan's passing. He was a wonderful person who helped me as a guidance counselor. Whenever I came to your home I just loved seeing him smile. Mrs. Kaplan, I love yours as well. I've always been in awe of what talents you instilled in your children. Again, I am sorry for your loss. I wish I lived closer as I would have wanted to come to the services. Love you!
