Elmira,NY - David Michael McGrain "Mikey" Age 68 of Elmira , NY passed away on Wednesday May 30 , 2018 at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing Unit in Elmira , NY. David was born March 20 , 1950 in Elmira,NY the son of the late Leland William "Mikey" McGrain and Eloise May "Sally" Walters McGrain. David was a graduate of Southside High School Class of 1969 . He received his Associate's Degree in Drafting from Corning Community College. David was and electrician and member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 241 in Ithaca,NY. He owned and operated Electric One in Elmira , NY for many years. He served his country with The U. S. Navy Reserves "Seabees" and was honorably discharged from The U.S.NAVY on June 7, 1986. Mikey loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. David is survived by his children David J. McGrain of Horseheads,NY , Michelle & Thomas Breitung of Sevierville,TN , and Scott L. McGrain & Jessica Fields-McGrain of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Jeremy & Amber Breitung,Kristyn Breitung,Joshua Breitung,Kaitlynn Breitung ; brothers and sisters: Dan & Donna McGrain of South Carolina, Cinda & Thomas Dodge of Elmira,NY , Gregory & Sheila McGrain of Caton , NY , and Sherry & Randy Ameigh of Elmira, NY ; several nieces,nephews,cousins, and a host of caring friends.
