KEENER Eugene Stanley
Age 83 of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday September 13, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY. Eugene was born May 22, 1924 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Fred Minor Keener and Esther Inez Vanderpoel Keener. Gene was also pre-deceased by his brothers Fred Robert Keener and Judson C. Keener. He was a Veteran of WW II serving his country with The US Army Air Corps attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. Gene was a retired Passenger Ticket Agent for the Erie Railroad in Elmira, NY. He was also a terminal manager for Hall's Trucking in Elmira, NY and worked at Southern Tier Hide and Tallow. Mr. Keener is survived by his sister: Betty K. Cortright of Horseheads NY; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gene's Funeral Services on Sunday September 16, 2007 at 5 PM at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY. The Rev. Dr. Larry L. Appenzellar will officiate. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
