Helen Canfield Obituary

Helen F. Forenz of Wayne Age 71, of 9941 Keuka Hill Road, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 8, 2004, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born September 1, 1933 in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of John and Helen Isebarn DeBattiste. Helen was a secretary at the Hammondsport Central School for 17 years, retiring about nine years ago; and a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport. Surviving are her husband, Robert E. Canfield; sons, Dominick J. (Patty) Forenz of Pulteney, Thomas Forenz of Carbondale, IL, and John (Elizabeth) Forenz of Jasper; stepsons, David F. Canfield of Endicott, and Jeffrey R. Canfield of Christiana, PA; and seven grandchildren, Kenny, Heather, Didier, Sarah, Samuel, Matthew and Lilly. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Michelle. Friends may call Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LaMarche Funeral Home of Hammondsport. A celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport. Rev. Sandra Curtis will officiate, and a private family interment will take place at McDowell Cemetery in Wayne. A luncheon will be held in the undercroft of the church after the service, everyone is invited. The family will provide their own flowers, memorials should be made to the Fingerlakes Humane Society, 7315 State Route 54, Bath, NY 14810.
