Kimberly Trank Obituary

Trank, Kimberly Ann

Caton: Kimberly Ann Trank, age 37, of Caton, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Kim was born on September 2, 1977 in Elmira, NY to Ronald Trank and Pam Trank-Cutting.

Kim's passion and devotion for her daughter was immeasurable. She was a devoted, caring, and loving mother.

Kimberly graduated from Corning East High School in 1996. She attended Alfred State College and later received her Veterinary Technology degree from St. Petersburg College. Kim was committed to helping animals of all kinds. She exhibited her caring nature everyday while working for Broadway Animal Hospital in Pine City, NY. Her love of animals developed at a young age when she began competing in multiple horse shows as a teenager.

She was a fun loving and kind person. She was accepting of everyone, but always let you know where you stood with her. Kim had many friends and had numerous fond memories of her close friends from the "Beaver Dams Gang".

She is survived by her daughter: Arianna Gillis of Caton, NY; step-daughter: Taylar Pfleegor of Horseheads, NY; fiancée: Jacque Gillis of Caton, NY; father: Ronald (Terry) Trank of Beaver Dams, NY; mother: Pam (Jim) Cutting of Watkins Glen, NY; three sisters: Lisa (Nick) Savastano of South Salem, NY, Kimberly's twin sister, Kelly (Anthony) Delionado of Mahopac Lake, NY, and Nikki Barnes of Rochester, NY; paternal grandmother: Leah Trank of Beaver Dams, NY; maternal grandparents: Robert and Lillian Perry of Watkins Glen, NY; step-brother: Cory Cutting of Indianapolis; step-sister: Colleen Jeffries of Greenwood, IN; in-laws: Robert Gillis of Caton, NY and Cynthia (Calvin Ward) Gillis of Savona, NY; sisters-in-law: Carey (Aaron Close) Gillis and Anne (Eric) Slocum, both of Corning, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandfather, Howard Trank, and her childhood friend and first love, Doug Retterer.

Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street in Corning on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church, 2075 Chambers Road in Beaver Dams on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:00AM. Burial will immediately follow in Beaver Dams Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the Kimberly Trank Memorial Fund has been established by the Corning Credit Union to benefit Kimberly's daughter, Arianna. Or, to honor Kimberly's love of animals, donations may be directed to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.

To Kimmie's family: I knew Kim from being her friend, Renee's mom, who also worked at Broadway Animal Hospital. Kim always came running over to me if she knew I was there and hugged and kissed me and always had a joke to tell me with her laughing, vibrant way. She was a true treasure, and I loved her and will miss her greatly. She is in Heaven making the angels laugh with her sparkling personality. I love you, Kimmie. We all love you. The treasures in life are always taken from us all too soon. May we learn from it and try to love one another more as Kim would want us to do. All my prayers for comfort and peace to her family. Kim was an amazing vet-tech to all my animals at Broadway. She was always kind, caring, and loving with them. She was there to comfort us in our saddest times when we had to put our animals down over the years. Her big smile and loving spirit will be missed.

Kim touched so many people in so many ways. I will always smile when I think of her caring for my animals in the way that only Kim could: she understood their personalities. Just just like with people, she let them knew where she stood and did it with a smile. I adored Kim as so many others did. May you be comforted by knowing that she will not be forgotten by me. She will be missed immeasurably. God Bless you all.

The world has lost a sweet soul. I was so saddened to see that Kim passed away. She was always so full of life and we looked forward to seeing her when we brought our animals to Broadway. We always asked for her when we went in. She even stayed late to be with us when we lost our Bailey. She will be greatly missed. My heart and prayers go out to her family at this sad time.
