Andrea Wright Obituary

Andrea Rogers Wright passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, in the arms of her devoted husband, William (Billy) Wright Jr., on August 13, 2025. Born on September 11, 1949, in Salisbury, Maryland, she grew up in the close-knit town of Secretary and was the beloved daughter of Bertha Andrews and Clifford Rogers. She married the love of her life, William N. Wright Jr., on July 12, 1970---a union built on faith, friendship, and unwavering love.

Andrea was a proud graduate of North Dorchester High School, where she shined both academically and athletically. She had a natural love for sports and enthusiastically played on the basketball, field hockey, and powder puff football teams. Her vibrant energy and competitive spirit were evident to all who knew her.

Over the years, Andrea wore many hats in her career, always marked by diligence and compassion. She began as a waitress at Gabriel's, worked as a key punch operator at McGuire Air Force Base, and later served in the State's Attorney's Office under Bill Yates. She continued her professional journey in data entry at Airpax and later contributed faithfully to Shore Health Systems in scheduling and pre-registration.

Faith was the cornerstone of Andrea's life. She poured her heart into ministry---teaching junior and senior high Sunday school at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, leading the Bible Quizzing team at Sunnyside Church, and co-founding Wednesday night prayer gatherings with her dear friend Sandy Spedden. She truly knew and lived the power of prayer.

Andrea had a joyful spirit and a love for family & friends that lit up every room. Her warmth, laughter, and deep kindness made her a light in the lives of those around her.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved son, William N. Wright III; her parents, Bertha Andrews Foxwell and Clifford Rogers; her in-laws, Frances and William Wright Sr.; and her brother-in-law, Lynn Adams.

Andrea leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William N. Wright Jr.; her daughter, Jacquelyn Wright, and son-in-law, Wes Harper; her treasured grandchildren, C. Dominick Wright, Madelyn Harper, and Lucas Harper; her sister, Faye Adams; her brother, Hobart Rogers (Bonnie); her sister Joanne Baker (Mike); and a host of extended family: Connie & Waddell Harding, Anne & Robert Murphy, Debbie & Hunter Shelley, Susan & Jay Meredith, Ruth & Tony Gorski, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Andrea Rogers Wright was a woman of strength, grace, and deep conviction. Her life was a testimony to the love of Christ, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. at 1 PM with Rev. Gary Stewart officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sunnyside Church, 6010 Sunnyside Court, East New Market MD, 21631 or Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury MD, 21802.
