Edward Boyer Obituary

Edward George "Ed" Boyer died peacefully on March 14, 2023 at his home in Easton, MD. He was 90. Ed was born June 27,1932 in Berwyn, MD to Edward George Boyer and Alice Letitia Phillips. He grew up in College Park and Greenbelt, MD.

Ed was a proud graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD, class of 1950, where he excelled in multiple sports and as senior class president. He was inducted into the DeMatha Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.

Ed married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Mary Mauser, on November 24,1951. He was a loving and devoted husband to Marge for 71 years. Following their marriage, Ed served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After honorably completing his military service, Ed earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in 1957. Upon graduation, Ed began his 30-year professional career at the IBM Corporation as a sales executive in their office products division in Washington, DC, where he consistently achieved top sales awards.

Ed was a faithful, active, and engaged member of the Catholic community throughout his life, particularly in social ministry through the Saints Peter and Paul Parish Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.

As an outdoor sportsman, golfer, servant, and family man, Ed loved life - especially on the Eastern Shore. Ed will be remembered as smart, wise, generous, and a man of utmost integrity. In addition to his beloved wife, Marge, he is survived by his six children, Robert (Susan), Jeanne (Robert), Mary, Margaret (Thomas), Bernard (Dorothy), and Timothy (Denise), 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, in whom he took extraordinary delight. He was predeceased by his parents, infant son Richard Paul, sister Virginia Klinger, and granddaughter Melissa Marie (Boyer) Sylvestre,

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ed's life at a Mass of Christian Burial on March 29, 2023, at Saints Peter and Paul RC Church in Easton, MD. Visitation at the church at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m.
