Joseph Stallings Obituary
Joe had a deep love for his family, his friends, and the simple joys of life. He grew up in Crownsville, and was a 1977 graduate of Old Mill High School. Whether he was tending his garden, caring for animals - especially his beloved German Shepherds - or tinkering on one of his cherished old cars in the garage, Joe lived each day with passion, kindness, and a generous heart. Family always came first for him, and he built a life filled with love, laughter, and loyalty.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; his brother James Stallings and wife Nancy of Felton; his daughter Chanda Middleton and son-in-law Jim Middleton of Denton; two granddaughters, Samantha Middleton of Denton and Amber Bowman and her husband David-Michael of Fruitland; a son, Jesse Schrunk and wife Melba of Boerne, Texas; four grandchildren, Kristina Schrunk, Raymond Schrunk, Meluita Schrunk, and Joseph Schrunk. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Elaine McNabb Escobar and a nephew, Joseph "Cris" Escobar.
Joe's legacy of hard work, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will remain with us always.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6:00PM to 8:00pm at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 1:00PM where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bobby Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in Unity Washington Cemetery.
