Julia A. "Judy" Hickman

1927 - 2017

EASTON - Julia A. Hickman, "Judy," joined her husband in Heaven on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, after a short battle with cancer at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton.
Born August 6, 1927 in Princess Anne, MD, she was the daughter of Olive McIntyre Powell and Russell Powell.
Judy graduated in 1944 from Washington High School in Princess Anne, MD. She went on to graduate in 1947 from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Wilmington, DE, as a Registered Nurse.
On May 14, 1948, Judy married H. Glen Hickman, who died in May 2000. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Easton Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1989. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. After her husband's passing, Judy volunteered at Talbot Hospice House. She always enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
She is survived by one son, Bradd S. Hickman, of Easton; and half-brothers: Russell Powell Jr. and Robert S. Powell, of Princess Anne, MD.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 11 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, where friends may call one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. The burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 117, Oxford, MD 21654 and Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
