Malcom G. "Mack" Gibson

Malcolm G. Gibson "Mack" of Easton passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD, after a brief illness. He was 93 years old.

Mack was born on November 5, 1932 to the late Jacob A. and Mary Margaret DeFord Gibson and was the brother to four siblings, Jacob "Sonny" Gibson Jr., John L. "Jackie" Gibson, C. Faye Connolly, and Mary Lou Winstead.

He graduated from Centreville High School in 1949 and worked on various farms near Queen Anne. He joined Elliott Wilson Trucks in 1956, as a diesel mechanic and wrecker driver. He retired after 39 years of service in 1995. Throughout his life, he most enjoyed collecting and hauling scrap metal and was known as Junkman. He continued this until a month before he passed.

On May 27, 1972, he married Doris Thompson Blessing and gained a daughter, Robin. On March 6, 1973, his daughter, Amy, was born.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Robin O'Brien (Billy) and Amy Lynch (Robert); four grandchildren Amber O'Brien (Jay), Ashley Schauber (Michael), Kristen Lynch (Kyle) and Carter Lynch and one great-granddaughter Lila Smith; a sister Mary Lou Winstead and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by a sister C. Faye Connolly; and brothers Jacob A. "Sonny" Gibson Jr. and John L. "Jackie" Gibson.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, January 5th, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, MD, where friends may visit with the family from 10-11am, before the service. The burial will be private.
