Robert "Bob" Francis Musterman Jr., of Centreville, Maryland, passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 59. Born in Annapolis, Maryland on November 18, 1965, he was the son of the late Robert Francis Musterman, Sr., and Nancy Jean Rhodes Musterman. Bob was raised in Bowie, MD and graduated from Bowie High School, Class of 1983.
Bob dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. In 1984, he began his distinguished law enforcement career with the Greenbelt Police Department, where he served proudly for 29 years. As a key member of the department, he ran the K-9 Unit, leaving behind a legacy of highly decorated dogs and was a vital part of the SWAT team, trained extensively in tactical operations and as a sniper. Bob also spent time on the Department's Honor Guard, participating in ceremonies and funerals, always available to honor a fallen Officer. His unwavering commitment to duty earned him numerous commendations and awards throughout his career, including a Bronze Star, Officer of the Year, and multiple instances of the K9 Triple Crown Award.
After retiring from Greenbelt PD, Bob continued to serve the public as a courthouse supervising Deputy with the Talbot County Sheriff's Department, a position he held at the time of his passing.
On November 20, 1995, Bob married the love of his life, Dayna Glaser. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Bob was an avid runner who recently competed in the Frederick Marathon. He was a man of many passions-he loved the ocean, especially spending time on the beach and body surfing. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years, Car Club with his Mustang , and he loved the occasional Budweiser. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Dayna Musterman; his children Christopher Musterman (Katelynn) of Pasadena, MD, and Jacob Musterman and his fiancée Justine "Bean" of Centreville, MD; his siblings Shelley Musterman of Binghamton, NY, Wendy Walston of La Plata, MD, and Laura "Lump" Callahan of Oxford, MD; and his cherished grandchildren, Elaine and Raylee.
Bob will be remembered for his strength, his service, and the love he gave to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Bob loved to live life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday April 24th, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty Street, Centreville, MD 21617, with a Service to follow.
