Robert Schubert Obituary

Robert "Bob" Thomas Schubert, 75 years, passed away on May 5, 2025 at his home. Bob was the beloved husband of Sherry L. Schubert. Being born February 22, 1950 in Somerville, New Jersey, he was the fifth of six children from Frank George and Marie Koenig Schubert.

Bob always appreciated his brother's strong family dedication. At the death of his mother when he was four, he and two other young brothers were taken in and raised by his two oldest brothers Frank and then wife Ethel Schubert and later Chuck and wife Mary Schubert. He felt he couldn't have had any better role models or guardians. As a result he lived in many areas of Pennsylvania and New Jersey in his earlier years. He said he only went to the same school two consecutive grades once in his life eventually settling in Salisbury and finishing school at Wicomico High School. Bob joined the Maryland Army National Guard in 1969 as an Infantry Grenadier.

Many people will remember Bob thru his years with Drug Fair management, collections business, finance manager, General Motors (GMAC) Field Rep, auto sales and leasing, to Schubert's Collector Cars Sales.

In 1983 he married his love, Sherry Abey Schubert. Together they opened Sherry's Barber Shop, 509 Maryland Avenue in Cambridge. Within a few years her business grew so Bob went to the same Maryland Barber School in Brooklyn, Maryland. Together they remodeled and grew to 123 Washington Street Cambridge location. As both Master Barbers, they worked side by side and built a lifetime of friendships and memories in the thirty eight years, eventually retiring for health reason. Together they enjoyed motorhome travel, antiquing, flea marketing, metal detecting, collector cars, and yard work around the home.

Bob is survived by the true love of his life and best friend Sherry Abey Schubert; one brother, Christopher Schubert (Connie) of Swanzey, NH; a very special niece Heather Schubert who has always been like a daughter; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; a son, Robert Corey Schubert of Arizona, a stepdaughter, Laura Cannon of Seaford, step-grandchildren, Haley, Carly, and Regan Cannon all of the Seaford area.

Preceding him in death besides his father and mother that have passed are brothers Frank Henry Schubert and wife Ethel who raised him early on, Charles Frederick Schubert and wife Mary who were like real parents, very close brother Edward Fred Schubert and sister Marie Elizabeth Lanauskas.
