Joan Dodson Obituary
Joan Carolyn Dodson (age 76) departed this earthly life on October 11, 2023 while surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 4, 1947 in Brandywine Station, Culpeper, VA to the late Alfred Hugh and Ida Virginia Settle. Joan was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed decorating her home, refinishing furniture, and gardening - especially taking care of her many rose bushes. Christmas was a time of great joy for her, where she was known to go all out decorating for the season. Joan loved to spend time with family by hosting dinners, celebrating birthdays and holidays, or just being with her loved ones. Joan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Lee Dodson; her sisters, Hilda Mae Newcomer and Mildred Virginia McGlothlin; her daughters, Teresa Lyn Hardbower (Dwayne) and Melissa Carolyn Gauldfeldt (David); her grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel Hardbower, Jacob Nathaniel Hardbower (Alyssa), Joshua Lee Gauldfeldt (Sara), Kristina Evangeline Gauldfeldt, Bethany Carolyn Gauldfeldt (Stephen Cobbins), and Ava Nicole Perla (Christian); and her great-grandchildren, Natalie Anne Gauldfeldt, Nicholas Aiden Gauldfeldt, Isaac Malakai Gauldfeldt, Evander Marc Gauldfeldt, Caleb Bradley Cobbins, Clayton Michael Cobbins and Hannah Carolina Lucas. She was preceded in death by her grandson Marc Isaac Gauldfeldt.
The immediate family will be gathering around her to say their goodbyes and celebrate her life at Hillcrest Memory Garden in Jeffersonton, VA on October 18, 2023. For anyone who would like to send flowers to be taken to the burial site, they can be sent to Mosers Funeral Home in Warrenton, VA. Online condolences can be made at moserfuneralhome.com.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers are with Mrs Dodgson´s husband Bob, her sister, to daughters Melissa/Theresa, their Husbands and kids during this time. Mrs. Dodson was a woman of faith and I had the pleasure to know her and her family in her last chapter of her full life. Joan I pray for eternal rest in peace in heaven. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a small part of your life!
