Paul Pierce Obituary

Paul Pierce
Port St. Joe - Paul Howard Pierce, 74 of Port St. Joe, passed away on March 24, 2021, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Maddox Pierce, and was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Paul Pierce.
Paul was born in Port St. Joe on January 2, 1947, to Jessie F. Pierce and Hattie Gainnie Pierce. He grew up in St. Joe and graduated from Port St. Joe High School, Class of 1965. After serving in the United States Army, Paul worked in the paper mill in St. Joe for 33 years and the paper mill in Panama City for 5 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
As a youth, Paul participated in the Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth Baseball programs, later coaching in the Dixie Youth Program. Throughout life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Northwest Florida area.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and their wives: Frank and Lucille Pierce and Floyd and Marilea Pierce; and his sister, Evelyn Watkins and her husband, Charles.
Paul is survived by his nephews and their wives: Gregg and Cathy Pierce, Joe and Terri Pierce, Kenneth and Donna Ritch, and their families.
Graveside funeral services were conducted on Sunday, March 28, at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe.
