It is with great sadness that the family of Mabel Dedlow announces her passing on Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska at the age of 99.

Mabel was the daughter of Mary K Jacoby and was born in Windsor, Colorado. She married James Dedlow on January 7, 1945 in Scottsbluff, to this union 3 children were born: Ronald, Robert and Patricia.

Mabel was employed by Woolworths, McDonald Flower and Gift Shop as a florist, Gering Public Schools in the Cafeteria, and later as a Custodian along with Jim at Geil School in Gering. They made a "Great Team" and had many friends at Geil.

She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Mabel was a very accomplished seamstress, whether it was making quilts, crocheting Afghans or sewing clothes for the family. She was always making something beautiful. She especially loved quilting and attending Bible study every Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church, together the ladies created hundreds of quilts to donate to those in need. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, as well as canning the many vegetables in her garden, and walking every day.

Mabel is survived by her son Ronald Dedlow of York, NE, daughter Patricia Wilson (Rex) of Minatare, NE and daughter-in-law Sue Dedlow of Meridian, ID.

She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren: Darcy Peterson (Scott) of Montrose, CO, Becky Hansen of Omaha, Jeff Dedlow (Missy) of Omaha, Jamie McColl of Sacramento, CA, Robby Dedlow (Chelsea) of Boise, ID, Amy Gross (Brad) of Gering, Ryan Kumm (Jami) of Gering, Chelsie Wilson of Hastings, NE; 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and half sister Shirley Delgado of Fullerton, CA.

Preceded in death by her mother, husband James, son Robert, daughter-in-law Donna Dedlow, her granddaughter's husband Troy Hansen, her daughter's step daughter Tessa Wilson, sister Frieda Rien, half-brother Johnny Rein, half-sister Wilma James.

Mabel was cremated. Her memorial graveside service will be Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Pastor Kathy Montira of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering. All are welcome.
