Uncle Jerry... where do I begin, so many memories! My first memories is of our families getting together to celebrate some holidays or just visiting at each other's
homes when we were young kids. Our families going to Bertram's (sp?) Island amusement park. Uncle Jerry and my father jumping off our garage roof into our swimming pool! Then becoming adults and moving on with our lives, we lost touch over the years. When my dad moved to North Carolina he would come and visit and we would gather in the basement of my dad's house and Uncle Jerry would play his guitar and keyboard and we would all sing. Eventually he moved to North Carolina as well and we had many family gatherings at my house for the holidays and we would celebrate St Patrick's Day at his house. Roseanne was always a gracious host. I miss her deeply as well. I spent many hours with them at their home enjoying one another's company. It was very hard to see my uncle taken over by dementia. He most surely lived a wonderfully fulfilled life and touched many people. You will always be my heart Uncle Jerry. I love you

Jerry was a special friend. In addition to our years shared teaching at Sparta, I was privileged to share two memorable motorcycle trips through northern New York and Canada. I also sat in on his biochemistry to learn from a master teacher as a student and an educator. I also enjoyed assisting Jerry in putting a roof on my house. He approached his roofing skills as an artist. And he hosted a number of Octoberfest parties with Dave Karlberg and me. My condolences to Maureen, Jerry, Norman and their families.

Mr. Amend was my BS/CS Biology teacher at Orange High School. A wonderful, talented and funny teacher who knew how to get the best out of his students. He was a breath of fresh air and I am deeply saddened by his passing. My condolences.

Grandpa Amend was always very kind and generous to my brothers and I. He would take me bike riding to nearby creeks, rope swing into them, introduce me to new healthy foods and listen to all types of music. I had no other grandfather in my life and every memory is a cherished one. May he rest in peace.
