Jeep was always such a kind person. I will never forget eating catfish at that gathering so long ago! Happy times, RIP Jeep and I am sorry I couldn't make it to your service. My condolences to Barbara and family.

I dont remember ever seeing Jeep without a smile, be it in the shop at studio, at the Pig-Pickins at their house off Sawmill Rd., fishin, tying flies , paddling, drummin'...and singing along with his Idol, Mel Torme, "The Velvet Fog" on TV...I came across this photo of his birthday and Mel came on TV...we told him we planned it... you are Loved & Missed by many.

When I think of Uncle Jeep, so many memories come back. In West Virgina, or Milton PA, or Wilmington.. One was hanging out with him in his wood-shop when he helped me make an easel for my high school girlfriend. I collected all the wood from hurricane fallen trees, then brought it out too his workshop barn. He had all the tools anyone could dream of. when we got started he let me make a few cuts, but in reality he did most of it by himself! It was amazing, just like everything he made and she loved it. There were so many times out on the boat or clamming in the flats with Mom and Dad. So many times. He was always full of stories about the movie business, who he saw recently, or what kind of amazing craft work he was doing for this movie or that movie. He made the break through wall sets for Big Trouble in Little China! hand made the swords in wood for Cyborg (for insurance reason)... he had lots to say about Van Damm from that one too. The Weekend at Bernies beach house set, built at Wrightsville. Maximum Overdrive. SOO many stories and so many movies! he'd always show us his name in the credits, he was super proud of it. We were all super proud of him. When I was in design school and even to this day, I share stories of how my Uncle worked on so many amazing sets. There were tons of dinners, barbecues, visits, drop ins, etc over the years... he was always there. It was really tragic to see Uncle Jeep start to change slowly then more and more drastically over the last years. Sometimes we'd visit and you'd see his eyes light up like they always did, like he had a great story to tell us or funny thing to say. I like to think that he had those jokes just on the tip of his tongue when that happened. Even that started to happen less frequently the last times I saw him. It makes me very sad to have seen him slip away, but am glad he's at rest. He is a great Uncle and I'll have memories of him forever.

So sorry for your loss, Barbara. Although I didn't have the opportunity to meet Jeep very often, I remember him as a great guy with a ready smile, and that you two were very close. I also remember him telling me enthusiastically about his love of fly fishing, and fly tying. He will be sorely missed.
Take care,
John & Mary

To my Daddio, Jeep, thank you for being a huge part of my children's and my life for the past 25 years- you and Barb made a difference to all of us. You both became parents and grandparents to us and we were blessed. We miss you but know you are in a better place and probably playing the drums for all to hear. Say hi to our Nique - I miss my tea drinking buddy - love ya and will miss you xoxoxo
