Charlie Ruffin....I hope Heaven has a golf course named after you! I cannot imagine all the lives you have touched and changed with your sweet spirit and generous heart. You were always so good to those of us in your life. We had some great times at work. I love you and thank you for all you did for me. See you in Heaven my sweet friend!

Charlie was one of my best friends and the best boss anyone could ever imagine! He was the smartest person I've ever known. His warm smile, sweet heart and crazy/funny personality will make me smile every time I think about him. I Love you and miss you already!

I have known Charlie, through business, for 35 years. A true gentleman but also with a quick wit. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ruffin family.

Charlie was one of the nicest people I've ever met. He always shared a positive thought. He had the ability to put a smile on your face each time he was in your presence. Love you charlie....

I've always said that the best thing from any job I've had has been the great people I met. In my 6+ years at the Wilmington-Cape Fear HBA Charlie was absolutely one of the bright lights. He would drop by just to visit and we all stopped what we were doing to spend some time with him. And then there were those times we met for lunch, and Charlie would NEVER let us pay.
I have a "special" memory of calling Charlie from work one day, on his cell phone. When he answered I asked, "Charlie, what are you doing?" He replied, "I'm in the men's room."
What a guy.
I've missed seeing him, and our lunches, since I no longer live in Wilmington, and I grieve that he's gone. But at the same time he's not REALLY gone. There are some lights you just can't extinguish.
