Johnnie Konetes Obituary

JOHNNIE KONETES

Johnnie Konetes of Wilmington died Thursday May 19, 2011.

He was born June 5, 1945 in Wilmington, NC son of the late George Konetes and Mary Ergas Konetes.

Mr. Konetes retired from Seafarers International Union after forty- four years of service. He served his country with the Military Sealift Command in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom; he was a member of the local HOGS club and loved his hobby of cars and motorcycles.

Surviving is his wife Anna Marie Konetes, daughter, Christina Konetes Lafoon and husband Matthew Brandon Lafoon, brother, Jimmy Konetes and wife Vivi of Pittsburgh, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7pm until 8pm Monday May 23, 2011 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
