LILLIE GRAY Obituary

LILLIE HOBBS GRAY Lillie Hobbs Gray, 84 of Holly Ridge, NC passed away on May 28, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 13, 1929 in Onslow County and lived in the Stump Sound Area all her life. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Murray Gray, her father Massey Sen Hobbs, her mother Marenda Caldonia Hobbs, her aunt Marenda H. Hobbs, one sister India Hobbs Cooper and one brother Ellis Hobbs, Sr. Mrs. Gray is survived by four children, Martha Ellis and husband, Terry, Gibb Gray and fiancée, Karen, Sharon Porterfield and husband, John, and Greg Gray and wife, Wanda; four grandchildren, Nell Griffin and husband, Joe, John Porterfield, Jr and wife, Martie, Katie McKinney and husband, Greg, and Kim Edens and husband, Hammer; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Griffin, AnnaBeth, Micah, and Piper Rose McKinney, and Hailey and Courtney Edens; one niece, Judy Cooper Henry; one nephew, Ellis Hobbs Jr and wife, Jean and her lap companion, Thomas. Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Ridge, NC with interment at Providence Cemetery on Sound Road. The Lillie Gray family will receive family and friends on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Jones Funeral Home in Holly Ridge, NC. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, Wilmington, NC, or The Lymphoma Society. The Lillie Gray Family would like to thank all of the friends and neighbors for visiting during her illness, the Staff at the Zimmer Cancer Center (Dr. Schreiber, Shauna, LeAnn, and Nurses, and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center (Tina).
