Marion Schweis Obituary
Wilmington, NC - 5/8/1937 - 5/25/2021
Marion was born May 8, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Michael Ryan and Virginia Eck Ryan. Two brothers, Raymond Ryan and Jack Ryan, and a grandson, Frankie Bucci, preceded her in death.
Marion was married to the love of her life, the late Charles "Chuck" Schweis for 58 years. He preceded her in death December 29, 2013.
Marion was raised in St. Dominic's Catholic Orphanage in Blauvelt, NY.
She is survived by 6 children, Noreen Schweis Munson, Hanns "Chuck" Schweis, Debra Schweis Murphy, Mary Schweis Luciano, Russell Schweis, Denise "Beany" Schweis Bucci; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Richard Ryan and Jimmy Ryan Congable; sister, Patricia Gavaghen; and one great-great-grandchild.
Marion stayed home 25 years with her children in Dobbs Ferry, NY and then went to work at Ciba-Geigy. They retired in Wilmington January 1994. Marion volunteered at New Hanover Hospital for 5 years. She loved to volunteer at her church, Immaculate Conception, and she loved her church family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 8:00 am until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Marion's memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund at 6650 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412.

I am so saddened to hear about your passing, you were such a sweetheart. I loved our many conversations at your appointments with Mr. Charlie and when you called. I never got down to the beach to spend time with you and I truly regret that. Have fun with Charlie, I know you truly missed him! Love you dearly and that beautiful smile!

Oh my little sweet trouble maker! we met by fate, of course, you serving the Lord. I am going to miss our lunches and calls. Dear Rich & Family -
In this time of sorrow, and on behalf of all St. Dominic's Alums, please accept and extend to all of your family, our deepest sympathies for your loss of your sister, Marion. It's been countless years since we last played in the plot; stripped beds on Saturdays; lined up to go to the "ref" (refectory) for meals; shuddered when our name appeared on the dentist, Dr. Berg's list, but the memories linger, and Marion will always be a part of those memories, a part of us.
May she rest in peace. And may God bless you and all of your family.

I was lucky enough to know Marion a short time virtually but she always prayed for me and my family. She will be missed by the family she left at the Cathedral of St. Augustinep Florida where she attended 7:00 AM mass every day. My thoughts and prayers are for her family

I am so sad of your passing. Miss you so much. The days aren't the same. We would start our day watching 7 a.m. mass at my parish, cathedral bascilica. Then, talk and laugh alot at night. I was blessed beyond words to have you in my life. Rest in peace with charlie
