Robert Randall Obituary

ROBERT LLOYD RANDALL

Robert Lloyd Randall, 74, died after a brief illness on June 15 in Wilmington.

Robert was born on March 3, 1935, in Crown Point, Indiana, to Lucy Jeanette Crum and Albert Lloyd Randall. He graduated from Purdue University in 1957 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and went on to study law at New York University. He worked as an engineer and patent attorney for Babcock & Wilcox in New York from 1957 to 1966, and was a patent attorney for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, from 1966 to 1994. During this time he was also a gentleman farmer, presiding over a forty-acre beef cattle farm with his wife Jane Randall and their three children in a rural suburb of Rochester. After retiring from Kodak, Robert fled the arctic winters of upstate New York to Wilmington where he became active in the Church of the Servant Episcopal Church, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, WHQR Radio Station, and the UNCW Adult Scholars Leadership Program where he was a board member. He participated on the Port and Waterways Commission until retiring from the post in 2005. Robert was a community minded man who always thought of others and was the first to help in any situation. He will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Randall; sons Timothy Randall of Portland, OR, and Christopher Randall of Pollock Pines, CA; daughter Sarah Walker of New York City; brother James Randall of Albequerque, NM, cousin Lyman Randall of Boca Grande, FL; two grandsons; a niece and nephew.

The memorial service will be held at Church of the Servant Episcopal Church, 4925 Oriole Drive, Wilmington, NC on Saturday, June 20, at 2 pm. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please send your remembrances of Robert to the Church of the Servant Episcopal Church.

Liz,

I am so sorry to learn of Bob's passing.

He was a kind man every time I encountered him and it was easy to tell the love and special relationship the two of you had.

Wishing you peace and comfort as you go forward in to the future with hopes of some happiness for the time and life the two of you had together.

Sincerely,

Ted Neff
