Julie Marusich Obituary

Julie Marusich, 61, of Spring Valley, passed away in her home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, following a short illness.

A visitation to celebrate Julie's life will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, May 13, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Julie's family will hold a private graveside service at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Julie was born on May 1, 1961 in Spring Valley to Rudolph and Lois (Bellettini) Marusich. She was a graduate of Hall High School. She was currently working for the Spring Valley City Clerk's office as a payroll clerk. Over the years, Julie participated in many Illinois Valley softball leagues and also bowled in many of the Ladd Lanes leagues. Her family will remember her love of Disney World and the many, many trips that she took there. And of course, the DePue Boat Races will never be the same without her there.

Julie is survived by her parents, Rudy and Lois Marusich, of Spring Valley; her two brothers, Jeff and Greg (Bonnie) Marusich, both of Spring Valley; her sister, Tracie (Jim) Erps of Normal; her nieces, Jenna, Azelia, and Sunny; and her nephews, Eric, Bradley, Alex, Jalen, Nathaniel, Aiden, and Gage.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Julie's memory to Cops 4 Cancer.

A guestbook may be signed and memories shared with the family by visiting bartofh.com.

Dave and I were so sorry to hear about Julie, she was special to both of us. She kept Dave supplied in graham crackers, and me with brownies. She always seemed to know when I needed one. She is and was "one of the good ones", and she was sadly missed after leaving SMH. We are so sorry for your loss,

Very surprised and sorry to hear of Julie's passing. Not sure the boat races will feel complete without seeing her on the shoreline. My sincere condolences to all of Julie's family and friends.

Condolences to Julie's family. "Munch" was one of a kind in many ways. Sad times, but let us celebrate the fun and happiness she spread throughout her life.

Julie’s quick wit and one liners always kept me amused and on my toes. Her competitive edge always kept me on my toes. I will truly miss this wonderful soul.

Julie was a great co-worker and friend. We always had fun at the clerks office, especially when she let me dig in her candy dish. She was always my co-pilot for the lighted x-mas parade with the city float. We will miss you greatly.

I am a librarian in the city of Spring Valley and I knew Julie through my work there. She was always so kind and helpful and I never left her office without a smile on my face. She was such a fun person. I will really miss her.
