Deiter and Family,
At a time like this it so hard to find the words to let you know that you have my deepest sympathy and my prayers go out to you and all of your family. It is so hard to loose a loved one but much harder to loose one at such a young age. I know because I have been through it myself. But with Gods help and prayers it helps us deal with it. Just know that you and your family will stay in our prayers. And God has blessed this young man for serving our country.
God Bless:

I was Doug’s Warrant Officer for his last deployment to Iraq and he was a magnetic personality and a true friend to all in the platoon. Doug would have everyone laughing 75% of the time and the other 25% of the time he was doing his job while still making everyone laugh. He was a great spirit to have around a true blessing to our platoon. I am surely blessed to have known him, and I will keep the family in my prayers. Psalms 91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in him will I Trust.

I was Doug's Platoon Segeant for almost 2 years. We were deployed together in 2005-2006. I am sorry for your lost. Doug was something of a force of nature. He kepts us laughing at all times yet when it came to his job performance he was a professional. I was close to the whole platoon, we were like family and I'm going to miss him. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. SPC Grell, I'm blessed to have known you.
