My Great Aunt Barbara will always be a permanent exhibit in my memory museum. She is part of the warmth I return to when I think of love without conditions and welcome without hesitation. She had a way of making people feel instantly seen, safe, and at home. I miss her contagious smile the most. Her absence leaves a quiet, unmistakable space that cannot be filled, only honored. She is someone I forever loved and will forever miss.

Aunt Barbara, I have known you my whole life. The world seems a little emptier without you. You were absolutely one of the nicest people I ever knew. Whether Kansas, Alabama, Spain or Austin, you treated me as if I was your child and not your nephew.
Thank you for always being there.

Barbara was more than just my aunt, she was my Aunt B. She was always there for me no matter what. All I had to do was call or stop by. I will always remember that mischievous twinkle in her eyes as her smile warmed me to my very soul and her love squirted all over me.
I will miss her.
