It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Lorrain Malicoat Goodrich, on October 31, 2024, at the age of 87. She passed away peacefully at her Austin home of 65 years.
Betty was born and raised in Austin, TX. Attended many schools all around central Austin, up through Travis High school.
On November 13th, 1955, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Dewey Goodrich, they had a wonderful marriage of 48 years.
She had one of many jobs, being a wonderful homemaker, worked seasonal at IRS and sold security systems for ADT where she traveled all over her well known Austin city, which she loved meeting and supporting new home owners. She taught oil painting and crafts to her daughter's girl Scouts troop, was a den mother for her son's Cub Scouts and volunteered at school PTA events.
She was know for her years of passion for western music and visiting as many dance halls as possible. As she was no stranger to anyone, therefore she was usually the social coordinator at most of them.
She was very talented and creative with oil painting, crocheting and gardening. And enjoyed roller skating and bowling back in the day.
