Cal C. Chambers

(10/24/2003) Cal C. Chambers, a businessman and former resort owner, died on Wednesday in Austin, after a long illness. He was 76. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, January 25, 1927, he was a graduate of Culver Military Academy and later served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II, stationed in Peking, China. After the war, he graduated from the University of Texas (Phi Gamma Delta House), B.A. Business Administrator, 1951. In 1952 he joined Texas Foundries in Lufkin, TX, until 1966. In 1953 he married Katherine Legendre of New Orleans. In the 1960's, he was the creator and president of Club Caribbean, a resort in Acapulco, Mexico. In his later years, he was a resident of Texas and California, where he managed several real estate properties. He is survived by his three daughters, Christy, Anne, Katharine; and his two sons, Hennen and Charles; a sister, Marjorie; and several grand children.
